What do you notice?
  • Discuss: “What do you notice? Next: Ask: “What changed?” Next: Ask: “How do you know?”; Finally Ask: “If there is the same amount of yellow and pink glasses of lemonade, how many total glasses of lemonade could they have made for their sale?”
  • “Show us… put your reasoning to the test.”: (pass out paper and pencils or have them use the back of their learning journals for math thoughts). Without guidance, tell them to work out their reasoning (5-6 minutes).
  • Finally: Ask each member to share what they believe an equation and solution might be. Review what an active listener looks like.
