July Space Memories

What do you know… what can you learn?
  • Family Sharing: What do you know about space exploration?” *Invite everyone to share. Discuss which books you would choose.
  • Materials: family learning journals/paper, pencils, colored pencils, and/or crayons. Remind them to open their journals to the next available page and date it. Don’t forget to have them label the top of the page with today’s learning topic/skill.
  • Guided enquiry: “This week we will be exploring space, the stars, and our evening sky-lights. What do you know?; What don’t you know?, What would you like to know more about?”
  • Research Resource: NASA Kids link
  • Next: Allow everyone 10-15 minutes to put their thoughts on paper about space exploration. Using the K-W-L chart is a great note-taking format.
  • Skill Discussion: “Let’s share what you’ve penned! Encourage everyone to share… including your youngest.
