Today’s reading investigation: Do you know who Mr. Lemoncello is?
Family Sharing: “Today’s reading discovery is about an advocate of reading, learning, and knowledge. Mr. Lemoncellohas invited readers to a sleep over at his amazing library. Every invitation is granted by a drawing from those whom enter the writing contest.” *Escape from Mr. Limoncello’s Library plunks a dozen sixth-graders into the middle of a futuristic library for a night of nonstop fun and adventure. Inviteyour learners to draft a written entry to attend this library contest. List their name, age, and home address. Write a 3 paragraph letter to Mr. Lemoncello (personal introduction, why they should be chosen to spend the weekend in the amazing library, and a closing stating how this opportunity will help them in their future).
Materials: family learning journals/paper, pencils, colored pencils, and/or crayons. Remind them to open their journals to the next available page and date it. Don’t forget to have them label the top of the page with today’s learning topic/skill.Encourage them to draw what a futuristic library would look like (have them label the futuristic areas/technology).
